Top Dog Hot Dogs, downtown berkeley, california

Robert Nebolon Architects was asked to design a new hot dog vending establishment as a tenant improvement inside our 1996 Oxford Center Building. Every student who attended University of California at Berkeley since 1966 knows Top Dog.

The existing double height space had high ceilings and one existing skylight placed in the center.

Our work entailed providing new cabinetry at the self-service areas (condiments, drinks). Ductwork and food service equipment was placed for maximum efficiency for these facilities. New sliding glass windows were installed to connect to foot traffic.

Consistent with Berkeley’s reputation as cutting edge thought and Top Dog’s unique and clear political thoughts posted inside, the cabinetry design is edgy and dynamic and never boring.
