Farley’s East Coffee House, downtown oakland, california

Robert Nebolon Architects was asked to design the original restaurant and coffee house as a tenant improvement inside a 1930’s single story retail space with high ceilings and one existing skylight placed in the center. The original Farley’s Coffee House #1 started on Portrero Hill in San Francisco. Farleys East in Oakland would be the second location.

A small kitchen and espresso station was placed into the center of the space with a new mezzanine above. The seating areas in the mezzanine provide different view points of the activity below and even for some more private conversations or deep study.  Artwork is provided by local artists.
