Hillsborough ADU

Hillsborough Accessory Dwelling Unit The Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) is designed to fit into the landscape adjacent to a creek. New ADU state laws allow new ADUs to be placed within 4’-0” of the rear and side property lines. In this project, the only available site is next to the creek. The 800 SF structure is embedded into the embankment to be part of the landscape. The design is influenced by San Francisco Bay Area Modern, or Critical Regionalism.
