Point Richmond House

This elegant modern home captures the magic of living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Constructed on concrete piers over the water, the home gently suggests ship hulls and seashells.  From the street, the house offers no clue to visitors as to the spectacular views across the Bay of Downtown San Francisco, Marin County hills, and East Bay/Berkeley Hills.    Inside, the entire house dissolves into glass at the back wall, framing views of downtown San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge.  A double height living room and mezzanine open to the outside through stacked sliding glass doors to expansive decks and balconies for an integrated indoor/outdoor living.   Corrugated copper siding with verdi-gris was chosen for its durability to salty marine conditions.  Rough-sawn red cedar siding was specified and stained to age well in the marine climate.  The composition evokes visions of a fishing village beside the water. The house interiors have a deep respect to California Coastal Modern Design.
