Triple Rock Brewing, downtown berkeley, california

Robert Nebolon Architects was asked to design the brew pub as a tenant improvement and an addition to the original 1982 Triple Rock brew pub/micro-brew next door. The expansion took place inside a new concrete and steel building where the finishes were concrete block and concrete ceilings. Existing graffiti covered concrete site walls were preserved and presented inside the sitting area. An industrial Beer Graden aesthetic was desired so the new gated openings between the old and new Triple Rock sitting areas are industrial grade roll-up doors. Electrical outlets were installed into the ceiling to provide beer garden style string lighting. The Owner’s vintage Beer advertising is used with the Large Hamm’s vintage billboard as the marquee vintage piece. Large steel base-isolator columns are visible in the main space and are left in their original industrial appearance and colors.
