Tandoori Oven Restaurant, san jose, california

Robert Nebolon Architects was asked to design an Indian cuisine Tandoori Oven style restaurant within an existing space that once held another restaurant.  New interior walls are placed and then punctured with large and small openings that provide some privacy to the diners from the newly arrived patrons,  modulate the light from the large glass entry, block views of a huge parking lot, and to provide all sorts of visual excitement when the skewed walls cross near or around the skylight wells.  The vivid colors accentuate the high walls and  the wall and door openings in these walls and make the restaurant much more exciting than expected.
