Marin County Civic Center Cascades Restoration and Improvements

The Marin County Civic Center-a historic building- was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the late 1950’s and was constructed in the early 1960’s. The civic public building is located in the San Francisco, Bay Area in California. Adjacent to the Civic Center lies the lagoon, a fresh-water estuary and the site of the Cascades water display. The Cascades were designed by Aaron Green and William Wesley Peterss in 1961 after the passing of Wright. CMS Collaborative is the Water Feature sub-consultant to Robert Nebolon Architects (RNA)

RNA was retained by the Marin County Parks Department and Public Works Department to provide concepts to restore and modernize the fountain. The intent is remove and replace years of ad-hoc improvments in and around the fountain, redo the landscape in a couple of areas, and to address bulding code and ADA access items. This civic work is cherished by many. Work should be complete by Spring 2025. #robertnebolonarchitects
