Sunset Magazine Idea House

The house was designed for an extremely steep site which created a unique downhill house design. The house is a series of stacked rectangular boxes that cantilever out from the main core to a distance required for the room inside the rectangular box.  In some areas, the box was cantilevered out to include the room plus a private deck.

Sunset Magazine selected this house as the 2016 Sunset Idea House for the unique design that had incredible views of the entire San Francisco Bay.  The signature moment  is the “Sky Deck” on the entry level that has a outdoor fire pit surrounded by tall glass windows.

Robert Nebolon Architects designed all permanent cabinetry layouts, and selected all exterior finishes and colors.   Geremia Design provided guidance on all interior finishes, furnishings and artwork for the Sunset Magazine House tours most of which was removed and repainted afterwards unfortunately. The design is influenced by San Francisco or California Modern Style.
